Client Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI) Edmonton, Alberta
A recent provincial effort in Alberta called the Client Directed Health Care Invoicing (CDHCI) Program gives qualified persons the chance to choose their own preferred provider for home care services, with the majority of the cost being covered by government insurance.
You can now engage JCM Healthcare in Edmonton to get personal care services, home support, and respite care because they are one of the program's biggest providers of trustworthy and caring care. So that your family may concentrate on the care of your loved ones, JCM Healthcare will handle setup, care delivery, and billing processing. You don't have to since the JCM Healthcare team will deal directly with Alberta Blue Cross to get reimbursed for authorized costs.
How it works
Call the JCM Healthcare Team in Edmonton at +1 780-566-9655 if you already have or need homecare, and we will walk your family through the steps. The software can also be started by doing the following:
Speak with your case manager at AHS: To discuss your eligibility for the CDHCI program, get in touch with your current AHS Case Manager. To self-refer, you can also call the AHS Community Home Care Intake line (811). A Case Manager will come to your house, evaluate your needs, and assign hours.
Sign the necessary paperwork: Fill out the Consent to Disclose Information form and the Letter of Agreement that your case manager has provided, which outlines the conditions and obligations.

permission from Blue Cross: After receiving a letter of permission from Blue Cross, our staff will create a personalized care plan, arrange for your treatments, and handle all invoicing and administrative duties. Private billing is offered for additional services: These include overtime, vacation compensation, equipment costs (not covered by the Blue Cross CDHCI program), and additional hours over the authorized limit.
Benefits of the CDHCI Program
The Client Directed Home Care Invoicing program in Alberta offers several key benefits for individuals eligible for home care services. Firstly, it provides increased choice and control, allowing you to select a home care service provider that best suits your needs, preferences, and values, provided they are an approved vendor with Alberta Blue Cross, including private home care providers. You also gain more input into your care and scheduling, enabling you to work with your chosen provider to create a personalized care plan and select caregivers who are a good personal and cultural fit.

Secondly, the program simplifies financial management through direct billing, where approved providers directly bill Alberta Health Services (via Alberta Blue Cross) for the approved services, eliminating the need for out-of-pocket payments and reimbursement claims. This also reduces your administrative responsibilities by transferring the management of caregiver payroll and invoices to your chosen provider, leading to improved cash flow as you don't have to wait for reimbursements.

Thirdly, CDHCI enhances the quality of care and flexibility. It promotes highly personalized care tailored to your specific needs and preferences. Working with a private provider may result in more consistent caregivers, fostering stronger relationships and a better understanding of your needs. The program offers the flexibility to adjust your care plan and schedule as your needs evolve and may provide access to additional services beyond publicly funded care through private pay options with the same provider, potentially even "topping up" existing AHS services if more care is required.

Finally, the program can significantly reduce the burden on family members by alleviating the stress associated with the financial and administrative aspects of home care and by providing funding for respite care for informal caregivers. For those already approved for Self-Managed Care, transitioning to CDHCI with an approved provider often involves a streamlined change in the invoicing process without disrupting their care delivery. Overall, the Client Directed Home Care Invoicing Program aims to empower eligible Albertans by granting them greater choice, control, and flexibility in their home care while simplifying the associated financial and administrative procedures.
